Workout to Failure Video by Elliott Hulse
By now you’ve probably been oriented on hardcore shredding and conditioning where you give your all day in and day out at the gym. Therefore, let’s tackle a little something else that could help you.
Here’s a secret that works. This is the real deal on how you can achieve your goals. Few trainers ever dwell on this topic. The next month or so will be teaching you all that you need to do. These are what you’d normally hear like training programs, exercises, etc, but that’s not yet the big secret. You will learn strength training and how to train for bodybuilding, etc.
Let’s talk about motivation, inspiration, and accomplishing your objectives. This is the one crucial aspect that a lot of people overlook when it comes to building strength, gaining speed, endurance, athleticism, and the life that they are committed to. Here it is, take note of it: Get comfortable, being uncomfortable. Let me repeat that so you can fully absorb it. Start getting comfortable with being uncomfortable.
This entails going beyond your comfort zone of what you normally do to get things that you don’t normally get. This means workouts will be painful. It’s true that going at it too much may cause you injuries, but you don’t have to kill yourself, really just punish yourself by being uncomfortable. Go beyond the normal boundaries for yourself. Stop setting limits for yourself – yes this is the normal thing to do! How familiar is this – “I’m going to do 4 sets of 12 reps of bench presses.” You just set a limit on what you can do! Stop doing that! Change your mindset! Squeeze your muscles in that set to really maximize reaching the boundaries that your muscle has currently.
If you know Ray Lewis the football player, you can search for him on youtube. He says in the video that he doesn’t pay much heed to reps, sets, or any other usual measures we have for ourselves. HE DOESN’T STOP UNTIL HIS MUSCLES FAIL. He trains so hard, that there are days in the week when he can’t even lift himself up off his bed. Imagine having this kind of mindset with your training, your business or even your life in general. Ordinary actions bring about ordinary results. If you want things that are not normal for you – your dream body, your dream house, bank account balance, anything! Then you need to do things that are not in your range of normal. Getting comfortable being uncomfortable is a really good start…so workout to failure when possible.
